Offer of candles to Saint Margaret – Archidado Events

The event starts with a costume parade along the main streets of Cortona, with shrilling trumpets and a drums. All the five neighbourhoods gather in the square, bringing flowers and homages for Saint Margaret.

After a flagflyers show, the Bishop blesses the candles that will be offered to the Saint in front of a small group of representatives for each quarter.
The parade then will form a procession and walk to the Sanctuary of Santa Margherita, accompanied by musicians, flagflyers and other
historical characters.

At the Sanctuary, a Mass will be celebrated to bless the participants of the Archiadado Joust and the golden arrow that will be their trophy.
